Derby B Keeps Championship Hopes Alive - Just!
The B team played its final home match of the season against Belper C last Tuesday, the 22nd April.
Skott was up against a very strong opponent in good form and went down to an attack in a London system middle game.
George balanced the score, first winning an exchange and then assailing his adversary's king with his queen and rook.
My game went to a rook and pawn ending with myself two pawns to the good. Ultimately this led to my opponents resignation.
Stuart gained an impressive space advantage but couldn't quite press this home and agreed a draw in a balanced position.
This result leaves the team securely in second place in the division with a match against the leaders to come to conclude the season
