D-Team “Tasted Blood” but left Bruised

Amber Valley are currently playing their home matches at neutral venues. So, we played them at Spondon. They were a strong team and this was reflected in the eventual scoreline.
First, I thought I could taste blood and went for it (it doesn’t take much), resigning board 3 at about 8:30.
Then Alan resigned, on one, having put up a brave fight against Dean Hartley.
Garry, on two, had his king drawn out into the board and was subjected to some horrible pins. He hung on for a long time.
Our only share of the points came from Sam, on board 4 who, having repeatedly escaped from some real scapes was offered a draw.
Well done Sam.
