Fire On Board Tournament Report

The Fire on Board tournament was a four round quickplay, with all the starting positions being Open (1.e4 e5) gambits. This involved complex tactical positions right from the start of the game.

There were plenty of wild attacks, although a few players tried to find the quickest way to a simplified position!!

There were 12 players involved. John T won the tournament with 4/4 (including a comprehensive victory over your author in the Allgaier Variation of the King’s Gambit).
