A Team: “One of the Closest 4-0 Defeats Ever”
The A team took on last season’s champions, Chesterfield A, at home on Tuesday (8/10/24).
All the games were very close with John Tompson on Board 1 seeming to have good chances to win against David Latham. Both boards 2 and 3 were close games with Rook and pawn endgames which probably should have been drawn. Board 4 was a slow manoeuvring game where I missed a chance to be better. Following this point I was gradually outplayed.
A disappointing start to our campaign with a 4 - 0 loss.
