Honours Even for D-Team at Belper

Derby D travelled to the Old King’s Head on Thursday (16/1/25) to take on Belper F.

There was an early win on the top board for Garry.

On board 2 with the back pieces, I was a pawn up when I allowed a swap off of queens. I was quite comfortable until I put my knights on the same file and had them x-rayed by a rook.

Sam played his socks off in a very complex position on board 3. He won on time but was also winning on the board.

Tony had his work cut out on board 4 and struggled on despite a big material deficit but there was no coming back.

Final result was a 2-2 draw.
